SOMERSET, NJ - School officials contacted police around 12:45, Wednesday afternoon to report a bomb threat called in by an unidentified person according to a news release.  

"Patrol officers and detectives responded to the scene," FTPD Lt. Phil Rizzo said in a statement.  "School administrators and police decided to evacuate the school and have a thorough search conducted."

K9 units from Somerset, Middlesex, and Morris County responded to the scene and conducted a search of the school.

"At the conclusion of the search, it was determined that it was safe for students and faculty to reenter," Rizzo added. "Students were released for the day while they were still evacuated."

Police are still investigating.
