SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Are you a person with Medicare living with diabetes or know someone who is? Take control of your health through a free and fun six-week workshop series.
Meet others going through similar experiences and learn about diabetes and its risks, preventing complications, healthy eating, exercise, medication management, dealing with stress and depression, action planning, and much more. Graduates from this program have lost weight, improved eating habits, started walking, and lowered blood sugar levels.
“I have learned more in this workshop than I have in 10 years of fighting this disease,” said Marian, a woman with Type 2 diabetes who graduated from a previous workshop.
The free diabetes self-management workshop series will be offered at Ashbrook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (1610 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains). Workshops are on Tuesdays, June 5 to July 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Complimentary healthy snacks, literature, and resources will be provided. The workshop is open to the public.
