MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Summer Concert Series will continue Tuesday July 2 with a free public performance by the United States Army Field Band. The Field Band from Washington D.C. will perform at the Gazebo at Ginty Field beginning at 7pm.
For over six decades the U.S. Army Field Band has been traveling nationally and internationally each year. Through these concerts, the Field Band
fosters the support of the American people for members of the armed forces and supports diplomatic efforts around the world. The 65-member Concert Band and 29-member Soldiers’ Chorus perform in a wide variety of settings, nfrom world-famous concert halls, such as the Berlin Philharmonie and Carnegie Hall, to state fairgrounds and high school gymnasiums. The joining of these two ensembles allows them to offer unparalleled versatility of programming, ranging from orchestral masterworks and operatic arias to Sousa marches, jazz classics, and Broadway musicals. The band and chorus also perform independently, and have recently shared the stage with such ensembles as the Boston Pops, the Cincinnati Pops, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra.
Parking for the concert is available in a variety of close-by parking lots, including Ginty Field, the Morris Township Police Department visitor’s lot and at the Morris Township Municipal Building, as well as at Woodland School and Ginty pool. Concert goers should bring their own chairs and blankets to enjoy the concert in the park.
