At 9:38 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a Freezing Rain Advisory for northeast New Jersey, including West Essex. The Advisory is expected to be in effect from 7 a.m. until  noon Wednesday. The advisory was issued because of the likelihood of freezing rain and black ice making for excessively dangerous roads.
