PARKLAND, FL- Florida's daily cases are increasing again with close to 14,000 while Broward County's percent positivity spiked to 13.5% on Friday.
Total people vaccinated to date are 1,389,149 in Florida and 114,093 in Broward County. Per Governor DeSantis' Executive Order, the vaccine can only be given to long-term care facility residents and staff, persons 65 years of age and older, health care personnel with direct patient contact, and persons deemed to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 by hospital providers.
The percent of positive results ranged from 8.56% to 12.37% over the past 2 weeks and was 12.37% on Thursday, January 21, 2021. The percentage calculated is for people that test positive for the first time and does not include people that had previously tested positive.
Parkland Schools have a total of 82 cases through the latest data on January 16, 2021.
Here are the current COVID-19 numbers according to the Florida Department of Health as of Friday, January 22, 2021:
Florida: 1,627,603 total confirmed cases, an increase of 13,719 since yesterday.
Broward County: 163,896 total confirmed cases, an increase of 1,176 since yesterday.
Parkland: 1,763 total confirmed cases, an increase of 26 since yesterday.
Coral Springs: 9,041 total confirmed cases, an increase of 88 since yesterday.
Deaths in Florida related to COVID-19: 25,011 an increase of 272 since yesterday.
Broward County: 7,965 (4.9%) total hospitalizations with 2,011 (1.2%) deaths due to COVID-19. Deaths increased by 7 since yesterday. The median age is 39.
Broward County Percent Positive: 13.5% per the latest data on January 20, 2021.
Broward County Hospital Bed Availability: Hospitals have 889 (16.4%) beds available and 78 (16.0%) adult ICU beds available per the latest data on January 22, 2021.

- Marjory Stoneman Douglas: 21 cases
- Mary Help of Christians School: 4 cases
