From Cupcakes, to Scones, to French Macaroons to Red Velvet Cookies and more: Brownie Points Bakery in Summit

July 21, 2014 at 6:58 AM

Turn the corner on to Beechwood Road in Summit, and notice the fantastic Red, White, and Blue “Designer” windows leading you into Brownie Points Bakery.  A fixture in the community, and a delectable Summit, New Jersey treat, the windows at Brownie Points are designed by proprietor Peter Lloyd, who with his partner Bob Conway, own the delicious Brownie Points Bakery.

The partners met at Macy’s on Herald Square in Manhattan. They began their culinary business by offering their fabulous baked goods at the Summit Farmer’s Market in 2007. From their constant and appreciated appearance at the weekly, in-season, Market, the gentlemen were coaxed by their loyal clientele to open their own  Bake Shop. You can find an entire array of their  delectable bakery products at Brownie Points Bakery, on Beechwood Road in Summit, or every Sunday at the Summit Farmer’s Market on DeForest Avenue.

“Our Duffins, which are Donut Muffins topped with a variety of flavors like Cinnamon-Sugar, Coffee Cake, Raspberry, and Lemon Glaze, and our Cup Cakes which come in flavors of  Vanilla, Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and Creme Brulee are always available, and make perfect gifts for any and all occasions,” said Lauren Gramatica, who is there to help you choose your favorite dessert.

“We pride ourselves on using only farm-fresh produce which we purchase in season from local New Jersey farms, and of course the Union Square Market in New York City,’ said Bob Conway who is always at the Bake Shop.

Along with his staff, Bob does all of his own baking. As the originator of the ever popular, Duffin, the partners started baking during Blueberry Season in the summer of 2008.

“And now we’re baking Croissants, Muffins, gorgeous Cup Cakes, French Macaroons, Raspberry Crumb Squares, and Vanilla Cake layered with Chocolate, Caramel, Butter Cream, and Twix Candy Pieces. You’re also able to pickup Tubes of Red Velvet Cookies which are sold for only $5 for 8 cookies,”  They continued.

Baked daily, and available for special orders like Birthdays, Graduations, and Baby Showers are their Salted Caramel Vanilla or Chocolate Cakes with Butter Cream, and Creme Brulee frosting, and a Vanilla Cake filled with Caramel, and topped with Burnt Sugar. The staff at Brownie Points pride themselves on offering a huge variety of their specially baked cupcakes, which are always fresh and taste delicious.

Recently, a dear friend celebrated a momentous birthday. After visiting Brownie Points, I could not conceive of any gift more perfect then a gift box of assorted, delectable cupcakes. As a special bonus, why not gift yourself with a package of Red Velvet Cookies tied with a white silk ribbon? (Priced at only $5 each).

To special order any of their “special” desserts allow at least two working days, or call and place your order early in the morning.

At Brownie Points there are shelves full of cakes and  cupcakes, plus a joyous selection of different, delicious, desserts, guaranteed to tempt your appetite. And like me, you’ll enjoy the experience. From the moment you enter the Brownie Points Bakery, you’re bound to enjoy a very special treat...of course along with Brownie Points!
