David John Rush’s beautiful watercolor entitled “Garden Plants” was recently chosen for inclusion into the new and fascinating exhibit themed, The Rites of Spring, by the Arts Council of the Morris Area. The exhibit is based on the composer Igor Stravinsky’s controversial ballet, The Rites of Spring which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. A call to artists by the Arts Council of the Morris Area sought art submissions that reflected Stravinsky’s “daring” and challenged the painter to break through conventional style, push past the bounds of the usual while reflecting themes of rebirth and renewal that come with the “rites of spring.”
Mr. Rush’s work, Garden Plants, is a dazzling watercolor in experimental visual art and can be seen along with the work of many other talented artists at the Arts Council Gallery, located at 14 Maple Avenue in Morristown, N. J. 07960, 3rd floor in the LEED certified green office building. The Rites of Spring Exhibit will begin with an Opening Reception on Wednesday, March 27 from 6-8 p.m. and will continue through August 21.
The exhibit is free and open to the public daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm or by appointment.
