Geocaching Program to Engage People in Real World Treasure Hunt

July 24, 2013 at 1:24 PM

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Members of the Local Boy Scout Troop 104 will be holding a free Geocaching program on Thursday July 25 at 7 p.m. at the Scotch Plains Public Library, 1927 Bartle Ave. The program is open to everyone.

Geocaching is a real world treasure hunting game that involves the use of GPS-enabled devices. The participants' objective is to travel to a specific set of coordinates found on their GPS and then try to find a geocache at that location.

The program will discuss how geocaching works what a geocache looks like, and giving tips on creating and hiding geocaches.

"People will find out what geocaching is so that they can become able to do it wherever they travel" said Pamela Brooks, the Head of Adult and Teen Services at Scotch Plains Public Library. "This program is for the entire community to enjoy and it will serve them well if they want to try geocaching".
