RANDOLPH, NJ- The girls’ high school lacrosse team has persevered through a season that has seen many of their games decided by one or two goals.  Unfortunately, they have been on the short end of many of them.  Had they received a more favorable bounce here or there, the win – loss record could have been reversed.

On Thursday, May 1 however, their ability to continue to work hard and play with confidence in every game, brought good fortune their way.  They took victory in a one goal game over Mount Olive, 16-15 at home in the preliminary round of the Morris County Tournament.

The game was a shootout, and came down to the wire when Mary Geschwind put home the game winning goal with 4:23 left in the game.  Randolph trailed 10-8 at half, but kept the pressure on and ultimately secured the lead and the victory.  Kelly McGinnis, Natalie Panvini and Dana Shalit led the Lady Rams with three goals apiece, while Lindsey Klein and Jillian Whiting added two apiece. Aly Styles supported the goal scorers with three assists on the game.

Their reward for the victory is a tough draw against the tournaments’ top seed, Mountain Lakes in the first round.
