So I am sitting here figuring out how to start my first blog with The Alternative Press. Now mind you, I have been blogging on the subject of real estate for quite some time, many times as a guest in this fine hyper local medium, and prior to that, as well as continuing, to write press releases in various publications. But now I have a regular column. My writings have been promotional and informational ands hopefully interesting. I am a great believer of the power of the proverbial pen (actually keyboard). People still do read, just not as much at a time. Especially in today's mindset of instant gratification!
Basically, we have taken the USA Today newspaper attitude when reading. “All the news that fit to print, in four paragraphs or less.” It works because it fits into schedules, it fits on their smart-phones, it fits in their lifestyle. In the words of Sergeant Joe Friday, from the 60’s TV show Dragnet, (showing my age), “Just the facts, ma’am.”
That is the premise of my blog, GETREALestate. It is here for buyers, sellers, renters, landlords and fellow Realtors of residential and commercial real estate to let them know what they need to hear and not necessarily what they want to hear. I look to be unbiased, as this blog is not to solicit my readers (although my office or myself, would never turn away a reader to become a client). I will be giving you some statistics, possibly some recent sales in town, market conditions, Realtor actions, and other real estate related topics. Even some tips for other Realtors in their everyday business.
I began my real estate career in 1985, as a NJ licensed Sales Associate (NJ broker, 1987) at Cirkus Real Estate Group, Clifton, a medium sized real estate firm that specialized in condominium conversions, new construction, and resale residential real estate. I quickly developed a passion for the business as I learned every aspect of residential real estate, with my specialty in marketing of individual as well as entire communities. In my career, I have sold and listed thousands of properties; been a Director of Marketing of the aforementioned company; managed a corporate real estate office , a franchised office and now Vice President of Coccia Realty, Inc., (www.cocciarealty.com), one of the fastest growing independent real estate companies in Northern New Jersey established in 1961. I also am a Certified Continuing Education Instructor for NJREC, specializing in the Realtor Code of Ethics and Fair Housing. I give you my background not to gloat but to show you my experience and my love for my profession. This, of course, does not mean I know everything about real estate, as the business continues to evolve. However, at least you know that I am also not a rookie in the business
Because of the nature of the blog, it is interactive. If you have a comment or a question of my weekly column or anything real estate related, whether you are working with another Realtor or not, (no Realtors names, please), please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will respond and if I do not know the answer, I will get it for you or send you a reference contact.
I thank thealternativepress.com for this opportunity to have my own blog and look forward to interacting with many of you in the near future. See you next time.
