CALDWELL, NJ - All are invited to the Giblin Association’s 59th Anniversary Cocktail Party which will be held this Sunday, Feb. 17, from 4:30pm to 9pm at the Caldwell College Student Center, 120 Bloomfield Avenue.
The Association is an Essex County-based civic and charitable organization, whose standard-bearer is Assemblyman Thomas P. Giblin of Montclair. Entertainment will be provided by the Willie Lynch Showband and there will be an exhibition of step dancing by the DeNogla School of Irish Dancing.

2013 Honorees are Sean J. McGinley and Carmel A. Portuese while Edward Giblin of Verona and Terrence O’Reilly of Bloomfield are co-chairs of the event. Admission is $35 per person.
Founded by the late State Sen. John Giblin, D-Essex, in 1954, the Giblin Association supports a wide-variety of civic, cultural and community organizations throughout the state. Proceeds from the cocktail party will be utilized to continue the organization’s mission.
“Both honorees are deserving of the recognition by the Giblin Association for their commitment and years of service to the community,” commented O"Reilly.
DeNogla School of Irish Dancing Credit: Jen McGovern
McGinley was raised in West Orange and is the son of Liam and Margaret McGinley. He and his wife Carole are proud parents of 6-years-old twin girls, Cadence and Madison. Upon graduating from West Orange High School in 1988, Sean completed a 4-year Apprenticeship program with Carpenters Local 1342, Newark. Sean later joined Local 68 IUOE and worked as a General Maintenance Mechanic at the Newport Financial Center in Jersey City.
Portuese was born and raised in Orange and graduated from Orange High School and is best known for her 60-year involvement in the Essex County Democratic Committee. Over the years she has worked on countless elections and has served as a county committee member. She has been recognized by the West Orange Democratic Committee with an award for her long and distinguished service.
