MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The Camp Oval in the South Mountain Reservation will be rocking on Saturday, July 1 from noon to 5 p.m. as Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) hosts their Summer Family Music Festival. The festival is open to everyone, and attendees should bring blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic for the outdoor concert.
The Summer Family Music Festival, featuring the CAMPLIFIED tour, will present several emerging artists during the festival including, Seconds Apart, Bad Seed Rising, Go Down Moses and 5 Angels. Between acts, a DJ will be on hand to entertain the crowd.
“We are so excited to offer this event to not just our girls but to the community as a whole,” GSHNJ Chief Executive Officer Patricia Carroll said. “Girl Scouting is more than cookies, camping and crafts, and our family music festival is a great opportunity for girls and their families to experience what Girl Scouting has to offer together.”
In addition to the live entertainment, tour sponsors will provide hands-on activities for families before the concert, including an interactive scavenger hunt, crafts, ring toss, DJ clinic provided by Ion Audio, Roland instrument clinic, manicure camp spa-Glam Up, mural/make your moment and Girl Scout program workshops.
“We look forward to seeing girls and families alike share in the fun that has made the Girl Scout movement an important part of girls’ lives for generations,” Carroll said.
There will be numerous giveaways and prizes for attendees. After the concert, all participants will have an opportunity to visit the artists at their booths and receive the CAMPLIFIED 2014 limited edition tour poster with a meet and greet for autograph signings.
