WEST CALDWELL, NJ — The Caldwell girls basketball team continued a successful run through a shortened winter season with a 70-39 victory over Montclair-Kimberley Academy on Thursday.

Brielle Guarente and Lauren Sanderson each scored 15 points for the Lady Chiefs (11-3). Sanderson sank four of Caldwell's five 3-point baskets in the contest.

Ronnie Wertz finished with a career-high 12 points for Caldwell, which has one game left, against Mount St. Dominic on Saturday. Should that game get played as planned, Caldwell will have completed all 15 games--the maximum allowed by the NJSIAA this winter--on its schedule. Many area teams have had their seasons interrupted or even cut short due to COVID protocols.
