BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- The Ridge girls basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 47-33 victory over Pingry in the second round of the Somerset County Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Junior swing Taylor Smith scored 16 points for fifth-seeded Ridge (17-7), which took a 16-7 lead after one quarter. Pingry was the 13th seed.

Junior guard Sophie Beneventine connected for 12 points for the Red Devils, who led, 31-27, after three quarters before finishing the game on a 16-6 run. Delaney Donohoe and Ava Haiback each finished with eight points in the victory.

Ridge will meet fourth-seeded Montgomery on the road in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday.
