Girls Night Out in Maplewood Set for June 5

MAPLEWOOD, NJ – More than 20 merchants are offering in-store events and special discounts for the seventh annual Girls Nigh Out on June 5.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and include raffles, trunk shows, cocktails, one-minute massages, a photo booth and a DJ. Attendees can pick up a map highlighting the different events and activities at the registration tent at Baker Street and Maplewood Avenue.

Several prizes will be raffled. To enter, visitors need to stop by the Maplewood Village Alliance tent with a receipt from any of the participating merchants – one entry for each receipt. Those entering must be 18 or older.

Reusable shopping bags designed specifically for Girls Night Out will be available at participating retailers.

“Don’t miss this perennial favorite event,” Julia Doran, Village Alliance manager, said in a news release. “Use it as an opportunity to catch up with a girlfriend, give yourself a break, get that end of year teacher or graduation gift, and enjoy Maplewood Village.”

Alison Ziefert and Collette Andrews, of Keller Williams Midtown Direct Realty, 18 Maplewood Ave., Maplewood, are the main sponsors of the event. They are hosting a special open house that evening. Baker Street merchants Salvage Style and Shed-the eclectic home, are sponsoring the DJ. Sunquest Funding is providing the shopping bags.

South Orange Celebrates the Season with 'Hometown Holiday' on Dec. 10

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - This Saturday, Dec. 10, is the return of the Hometown Holiday celebration in South Orange featuring Santa Claus, an Elf Parade, and the annual tree lighting. There will also be live music, merchant specials, and free two hour parking in South Orange.

Santa Claus will be at the South Orange firehouse for visits and pictures with kids from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
