EDISON, NJ - Union Catholic soccer stars Christina Layden, Sofia Alves and Caroline Morgan were recognized for their impressive play at the New Jersey Girls Soccer Coaches Association awards banquet this past Sunday at the Pines Manor.

Layden, Alves and Morgan, who helped lead the Vikings to a 10-9-2 record and a No.10 ranking in Union County this past fall, were all awarded Central Division Special Recognition Awards. 

Layden, a junior, finished the season with 16 goals, the sixth most in Union County, and had five assists. Alves, a senior, converted seven goals and two assists, and Morgan, a junior, netted 13 goals and contributed eight assists.

Alves, Morgan and Layden were also honored on the All Union County Conference team. Layden earned First Team on both the All-Union County Conference Team and was named First Team in the Mountain Division. Alves received first team All-Mountain Division honors, and Morgan was named Second-Team All Mountain Division.

UC's Kacey Brennan, Gabriella Martins, and Madison McCoy all received Honorable Mention honors on the All-Mountain Division Team.
