WEST ORANGE, NJ - Back on Jan. 21, Kate Ashley won the Essex County Girls Winter Track & Field 800m -- and almost four months to the date, Ashley once was crowned Essex County Girls Spring Track & Field 800m champion in West Orange on Friday.

Ashley also placed third in the 400m at 59.2. The Verona Girls Track and Field team finished in fourth place, making them the top small school in Essex County.

Pole-Vaulters Erin Petrino and Lily Benanchietti earned second and third place with respective vaults of 9’6” and 8’6”, while Gillian O’Donnell finished fourth in javelin with a throw of 99’.

Freshman Lauren Kobernick finished 7th in 400m hurdles and sophomore  Bridget O’Donnell had two solid distance races with times of 5:39.48 in the 1600m and 12:20. in the 3200m.

Cayla Okafor also had two strong sprint performances with a 13:38 100m and 27.26 in the 200m.
