BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Gov. Livingston 2014 Prom Fashion Show was held Friday, Feb. 21 to benefit the Class of 2014 and Project Graduation.
The event showcased the newest prom fashions supplied by Lord & Taylor of Westfield and Adams Fine Clothing For Men of New Providence modeled by 20 members of the Gov. Livingston Class of 2014 and six teachers. The models strode down the runway decorated with balloons by Chris Tribuna.
The models hair and make up was provided by Stephanie Skidmore for MaryKay, The House Salon, Skin Deep Salon and Spa, Macy's, Tracy Stevenson Hair Design, and Sublime Salon & Day Spa. Jewelry was provided by Kreations by Anne.
Co-Chair Doree DiSarno was pleased by the generous support from the Berkeley Heights and Mountainside Communities and all of the vendors that helped with the event.
Over 220 guests had an opportunity to participate in the basket raffle that included 55 baskets and six grand prizes that were donated by the generosity of Gov. Livingston families, friends and local businesses.
"I would like to thank my co-chair Jeanne Kingsley, Kathleen Harrison for her guidance and Sue Johnson and the Project Graduation Committee," said DiSarno. "A special thank you to the models and their families, friends and all the people that attended the event and made it a success."
The $4,000 raised from admission tickets and raffle baskets will be split 50/50 to the Class of 2014 to defray prom costs and Project Graduation which is is the all-night, alcohol and drug-free celebration for the graduating seniors.
Project Graduation receives no funding from the school budget. The money is raised through fundraisers, grants, business, professional and parent donations along with participant contributions.
