Go Girls! Summer Camp 2014 Launches in Plainfield, NJ

MAY 22, 2014 - Keep your daughter physically active, mentally engaged and creatively inspired by signing her up for Encore Kids Go Girls! Summer Day Camp, open for registration now in Plainfield, NJ. Girls ages 6-12 who are interested in fashion design, performing arts, cosmetic science and making friends are invited to join us. The summer fun begins June 30th and runs weekdays through August 22nd. The camp fee is $175 per week/per child, and a $25 registration fee plus a $10 per week deposit is required.

Go Girls! Summer Camp offers unique opportunities for girls to step into a world packed with hands-on learning, healthy self-expression and exploring their interests in a safe, nurturing environment of their peers,” says Tenin Baba Ndanani, program director. “Both art and science disciplines are taught through collaboration and exploration, creating a truly exciting and enriching summer experience for your daughter(s).”

Camp counselors and instructors are select students and industry professionals from the community and beyond. Girls are assigned to small groups with participants their own age, and they all rotate through classes in fashion design, performing arts, and cosmetic science.

  • Fashion design classes introduce campers to a variety of skills including fashion illustration, hand-sewing and machine sewing, as well as teaches them how to craft garments and accessories for a fashion show.
  • In the performing arts classes campers learn to act on camera, write, rehearse and perform an original piece using a combination of dance, music, and acting improvisation techniques.
  • Cosmetic science classes teach campers the step-by-step process of creating their favorite beauty products from beginning to end and the girls discover the exciting chemistry behind soaps, lotions and more.
  • In the alternating fitness and health classes campers explore their current knowledge of health and fitness practices by cooking-up healthy recipes and enjoying fun group fitness.
