Gov. Livingston Basketball Edges Westfield High, 48-45

WESTFIELD, NJ — Gov. Livingston boys varsity basketball hit back at Westfield Tuesday night with a nail-biting 48-45 win after their loss to the Blue Devils on Saturday in Berkeley Heights.

The Highlanders grabbed the victory by pulling ahead a mere three points in the fourth quarter after the score remained close throughout the game. Robert Imbalzano led GL with 16 points, while Dylan Elliott led the Blue Devils with 12.

The triumph comes at a difficult time for Governor Livingston, as players deal with the news that Andrew Silvagni, the head girls’ basketball coach at their school, has been missing since Friday.

Westfield, now 8-6, will play Union Catholic on Thursday. Also on Thursday the Highlanders, 4-9, will play Abraham Clark.
