SUMMIT, NJ - The Gov. Livingston boys soccer won an overtime thriller over Summit, 3-2, at Summit High School on Saturday. The Highlanders won six minutes into the first overtime period on a goal by Tiago Paiva.
"This team finds ways to win games. They have fallen behind in five out of the six games played this year and yet they find ways to win," said GL coach Bruno Somma.
Markos Mavrostomos led Gov. Livingston with two assists in this victory over Summit.
Captain Chris Marzo tied the game, 1-1, with a header goal.
Late in the second half, Trevor Bachert scored to tie the game, 2-2, going into overtime. Michael McKenna had an assist.
Gov. Livingston boys soccer will face Rahway at home on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
