BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Gov. Livingston Football faced Warren Hills Friday night under the lights at Gov. Livingston. The Highlanders came out on top with their first victory. The final score was 32-13.
Early in the first quarter, Ryan Jennings scored on the first Gov. Livingston possession. Jennings also scored the two point conversion following the touchdown. Late in the first quarter, Jennings had his second touchdown of the night.
With nine minutes remaining in the second quarter, Jensen Butler had an interception carrying the ball to Warren Hills’ thirty yard line. Quarterback John Wills connected with Alex Boyd following the interception for a thirty yard touchdown completion. Jennings completed the two-point conversion following the touchdown.
Jennings said, “It was an outstanding win for us. Everyone on the field contributed in a big way. All we need is that type of effort week in and week out."
Andrew Zecca completed a fifteen yard field goal, making the score 26-7 with 10:31 remaining in the fourth quarter. With 4:15 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter PJ Jamalowicz had an interception returning it for a Highlanders touchdown.
Gov. Livingston’s record is now 1-2. They will face Rahway at home next Saturday, Oct. 5 at 2:30 p.m.
