Gov. Livingston Softball Headed To UCT FInals With 13-0 Win Over Johnson

LINDEN, NJ -  Number three seed Gov. Livingston softball will rematch Westfield in the UCT final on Saturday, May 10.  The Lady Highlanders defeated second seed Johnson in a 13-0 rout on Saturday. 

Caroline Hewett, back on the mound after recovering from an injury, pitched a two hitter, striking out three. 

Sanzalone hit a two-run single to get the Lady Highlanders on the board in the first.  The Lady Highlanders increased their lead by three in the second and third frame. Carolynne Goldbeck, Kacie Worswick, Sanzalone and Steph Bade each hit singles in the third, with the latter two also contributing an RBI each.

Sanzalone homered in the fifth adding two more RBI's widening GL's lead, 7-0. 

Gov. Livingston added six runs to the tally in the sixth frame with a two-run single by Alex Foley and a two-run double by Worswick.  

Sanzalone added her sixth RBI of the day on an RBI groundout in the final inning.

Sanzalone told the Star Ledger that the past three games, the team has been clicking on every level possible and every cylinder possible.
