BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Gov. Livingston's Steven Duda pitched a complete game in a 6-3 victory over Scotch Plains on the Hill on Tuesday.
"I was trying to stay ahead of the hitters in the count. I was very successful at that," said Duda. "I thought my curve ball was on today."
Duda struck out seven and walked one in the eight-hit effort.
"My defense helped me a lot today in the field," said Duda. "It was a nice win."
The fifth inning came alive for the Highlanders when Pat Mahoney smashed a two-run double to add to Ian Lynch's RBI single for a 6-1 lead. Nick DiSarno scored two runs.
The Highlander's will play Cranford at home on Thursday at 4 p.m. and will celebrate their seniors on Friday night at Snyder Avenue Field in Berkeley Heights against Whippany Park at 7 p.m.
