“Greater Central Jersey Clergy Association Hosts Virtual Interfaith Community Memorial Service”
Plainfield – On September 19, at 11:00 a.m., community, government and religious leaders will assemble at Plainfield High School to attend a Virtual Interfaith Memorial Service. The Virtual Interfaith Memorial Service will be hosted by the Greater Central Jersey Clergy Association in partnership with the City of Plainfield and the Plainfield Board of Education.
The purpose of the Interfaith Memorial Service will be to acknowledge the loss of residents who have died during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Greater Central Jersey Clergy Association recognizes that due to imposed restrictions many community residents have not been afforded the opportunity to hold traditional memorial or funeral services for their loved ones. It is through this special memorial service the Greater Central Jersey Clergy Association hopes to bring comfort and healing to the families, friends and colleagues of deceased residents. As part of the service, the names of the community members will be read aloud and displayed for the viewing audience.
“Greater Central Jersey Clergy Association is pleased to have the opportunity to work with so many spiritual & community leaders on this greatly needed community service. Providing communities with wrap-around Spiritual and Community resources and support will promote healthier communities and stronger families, especially during this unprecedented pandemic. “We look forward to collaborating on other community endeavors”, said Reverend Mae Belin, President of Greater Central Jersey Clergy Association.
The interfaith service will be aired on September 26, 2020 and broadcast across the greater Plainfield area through the City of Plainfield Media PCTV, Comcast 96, and Verizon 34 public access channels.
If you have lost a loved one and desire that they be remembered during this service, please send an email containing their name to email@example.com no later than September 14, and their name(s) will be added to the list.
