Temple B’Nai Or in Morristown opens it new concert series Saturday, October 9, 7:30 pm with the Harmonium Chamber Singers. The concert features musical settings of the Song of Songs by Palestrina and Billings, Hebrew works by Rossi, Zahavi, and Hirsch, and madrigals and folksongs from around the world. The Harmonium Chamber Singers are 20 of the most advanced members of the Harmonium Choral Society, a 100 voice auditioned community choir of singers, including a large number of music educators. Named Outstanding Arts Organization by the Arts Council of the Morris Area, Harmonium is dedicated to performing a diverse repertoire at a high artistic level. The Chamber Singers specialize in unaccompanied repertoire with special emphasis on the Renaissance and twentieth century works.
