BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Victor P. Hayek, new superintendent of the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, officially began his tenure in the district Aug. 1.
Hayek was chosen as the new superintendent in June after a year-long double search by the board of education, during which assistant superintendent Cheryl Dyer served as interim.
Hayek posted the following message on the district website on his first day:
Dear Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District Community Members,
It is a privilege and an honor to be named your Superintendent. The more I get to know the District, the more I see that the Board, faculty, staff, and community are truly dedicated to ensuring that our students have the greatest opportunities to succeed. As your Superintendent, I will be focused on providing leadership that will continue to build upon the many positive qualities of our School District. It will be my job to ensure that our improvement efforts are strategic, thoughtful, and realistic.
Ultimately, the success of a top-level district rests with dedicated teachers who provide instruction and inspiration each day in the classroom. I am excited to work with the skilled and dedicated faculty and staff as we strive to provide the best possible education for our children, and provide them with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to achieve their dreams.
Together, we will prepare our students to address challenges we cannot predict, use adaptive and creative thinking for problem solving, understand technology and its potential, and prepare them for a global economy that does not have any boundaries.
We are all part of the greatest challenge facing every generation — passing along our culture through the education of our children. We can accomplish this through a strategic vision that will allow us to work collaboratively and forge new opportunities.
Dr. Victor P. Hayek
