WEST ORANGE, NJ - Hazel Elementary School held its annual Silent Peace March against violence and bullying on Monday. The week of Oct. 21 is Anti-Violence week in West Orange Public Schools and initiatives, including theme days, assemblies and activities to educate students about bullying and school violence have been occurring district-wide.

"This is a very meaningful event for our students" said Principal Ed Acevedo.  "We create posters and look forward to taking a stand against violence as a school."

The neighborhood was abuzz with the march, wondering what it was about. The goal of anti-violence week is to educate and raise awareness of good character and the negatives of violence and bullying.
