Heavy Rain, Winds and Fog; West Essex Weather for Saturday, Jan. 11

The National Weather Service issued two alerts for the West Essex area Friday afternoon. A Freezing Rain Advisory warns of ice accumulations on the road and is in effect until 4 a.m. Saturday morning. The Weather Service also issued a Flood Watch warning of the potential for flooding. 

Rain has begun falling Friday night at around 10:30 p.m. and Fairfield's Essex County Airport is reporting an accumulation of only 0.1" so far. The forecasting is calling for another 2" of Rain by 11 p.m. Saturday night. 

In addition there will be Heavy Fog from midnight until 8 p.m. Saturday night.
