HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - The annual Fire Commissioners Election will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the municipal building, 379 South Branch Road.

There are two 3-year commissioner positions open and three candidates: Marian Fenwick-Shaffer; Jeffrey J. Mitchell and Charles T. Nuara.

Voters will also be asked to approve four ballot questions:

1. Shall the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Township of Hillsborough, County of Somerset, operate for the year 2019 with a budget of $3,238,782 and an amount to be raised by taxation of $2,711,665?

2. Shall the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners be authorized to spend not in excess of $280,000 for the purchase of a fire truck?

3. Shall the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners be authorized to spend not in excess of $160,000 for the purchase of a fire investigation vehicle?

4. Shall the Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners be authorized to spend not in excess of $75,000 for the purchase of firefighter gear?
