Hilltoppers to Wrestle Elizabeth for Conference Championshp


SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit High School Wrestling Team finished their week with a 1-3 record, including a win versus Columbia, and two close, two-point losses to Scotch Plains and Madison.

Summit, now 10-10 on the season, lost to David Brearley on February 7, and dropped matches to two strong opponents in Scotch Plains and Madison February 8.  The Hilltoppers fought back to edge Columbia 25-24 the same day.

Wrestlers of the match included Phillip Angelo 113 lbs, Robby Faris 145 lbs, Curtis Dukes 113 lbs and Mike Acitelli 126 lbs. 

This week, the team has a full schedule, competing against JP Stevens at home on February 10, Randolph at home on February 12, and Elizabeth away on February 13.  Should the Hilltoppers defeat Elizabeth, they will be conference champions.

Summit will also host a quad match February 15, beginning at 9 a.m., featuring Chatham, Irvington and Orange.
