FLEMINGTON, NJ – Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But science shows that heart disease can be both prevented and reversed.
Hunterdon Healthcare, the corporate parent of Hunterdon Medical Center, offers the Dr. Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease. HMC and HealthQuest of Hunterdon will host a special program about the Ornish program on Thursday, Oct. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. in Healthquest’s Adult Lounge. HealthQuest is located in the township just off Route 31.
The program is free and open to all, including those who are not HealthQuest members.
This program will be led by Lisa Buckley, who is the Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at HMC.
Participants will learn how the program can optimize your health and the research behind the Ornish reversal program; the four key elements of this program - nutrition, exercise, stress management, and social support; details of the program; medical coverage criteria; and how to join.
