HOBOKEN, NJ — A man who allegedly broke into three restaurants in Hoboken a few weeks ago is still at large, and Hoboken Police are looking for him.
Less than a week after reopening for outside service due to COVID-19 restrictions, three restaurants in Hoboken were burglarized between the hours of 2:10 a.m. 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 21. All three locally owned hospitality venues were located uptown, in the area of 13th to 10th Street from Washington Street to Park Avenue. Each reportedly sustained significant damage to the building, while money and other items were stolen.
The investigation was supervised by Detective Sergeant Josue Velez and conducted by Detective David DiMartino, Detective Edward Lepre, Detective Bret Globke, Detective Luis Rodriguez, and Officer Ryan Houghton. Through their investigation, 55-year-old Joaquin Fuentes, of North Bergen, has been identified as the alleged perpetrator in all three burglaries.
With warrants generated, Fuentes has been charged with Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Burglar’s Tool.
