Holly Kaplansky, owner of Minuteman Press of Newark, is one of 72 New Jersey women business owners who have lent their business expertise and insights to the new book, “Jersey Women Mean Business! Big Bold Business™ Advice from New Jersey Women Business Owners: Practical Pointers, Solutions, and Strategies for Business Success.” The book, published by Woodpecker Press, based in Bayville, comprises 72 individual chapters that offer tips and advice to entrepreneurs on a wide range of topics such as finance, marketing and publicity, sales, profitability, coaching, management skills, and productivity.

Kaplansky’s chapter is titled “Four Printing Tips that Will Save You Time and Money—And Enhance Your Image.” In it, she provides valuable tips on the factors that determine printing costs, the differences between and applications for offset and digital printing, color printing, paper stocks, and more. The book is available through the publisher’s website, www.WoodpeckerPress.com.

“Readers will learn some of the basics about the printing process and what factors to consider about their printing jobs so that they will be better informed and can ask the right questions of their printer,” said Kaplansky, whose company does work for many of the businesses in downtown Newark, as well as not-for-profit organizations such as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and schools including Rutgers University, Seton Hall School of Law, and NJIT.

She is an active member of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO), the North Essex Chamber of Commerce, the Newark Regional Business Partnership, and co-president of the Association of Women in Communications-New Jersey chapter. “There are a lot of factors to consider when pricing out a printing project that most people never think about,” noted Kaplansky. “After reading my chapter, business owners will better understand their printing costs and more accurately budget for their company’s printing needs.”
