Take a Walk Down the Pedestrian Street - A Unique Example of Modern Retail

HOLMDEL, NJ - What do you think of first when Bell Works comes to mind? Nobel Prizes perhaps? Theories about the Big Bang or renown architect Eero Saarinen? Fantastic minds of men and women worked here and were at the apex of worldwide development.

These awe inspiring inventions in communications and telephony and science and so much more have found their way into almost very publication on the subject. But wait, perhaps it is something more earthbound that draws you near to Bell Works. Something incredible yet elegantly simple? Something like...

An ice cream cone? But of course.

Bell Works and soon to be open Jersey Freeze are perfect together like 'two ice creams in a cone' as active and operating retail beckons you from the ‘metroburb’. This self-contained downtown in Holmdel, a desirable suburban location – boasts a variety of new retail options that await you on the ground-floor of its quarter-mile-long atrium, now a Pedestrian Street.

When Famous Jersey Freeze (Successful since 1952) opens you can enjoy that ice cream as well as every other retail service already open for business.

TAPinto Holmdel & Colts Neck has supported the community efforts of Bell Works from the early days and continues to  report on the burgeoning retail that many folks enjoy each and every day. Some ask what the experience is like so we provide the following hypothetical yet common possibility:

Imagine walking in the shoes of an area resident who has made Bell Works part of their daily ritual:

"In the morning, I shared time with my children on wonderful furniture from City Barn and got them ready for school. I have a few books that we have been reading from the Holmdel library so I plan to take them with us to Bell Works where the new library was built.

I still enjoy the gorgeous flowers in my kitchen that were purchased at Holmdel Florist. After deciding which lovely piece of jewelry to wear from Alchemist Jewelers, off we go! On the way to Bell Works, where I have a business meeting at Booskerdoo, my husband reminded me that the dental appointments were later that day. Good thing my children attend Holmdel's Montessori Academy at Bell Works because after they are finished for the day we can go next door on the Pedestrian Street to Dimension Dental for the appointment.

Luckily, my husband was having lunch at Bell Market. So before he went back to his offices in the coworking space, he will be there with the kids so I can get my hair done at Salon Concrete (after he gets a quick hair cut since he has a subscription membership).  I suppose I am a little spoiled since I am normally driving all over the place for far  less quality and  convenience.

Anyway, after using the ATM machine at my Bell Works Ocean First Branch, I grabbed lunch at Hummus and Pita with my girlfriend and let the kids pick up fun snacks for the ride home at At Your Convenience.

Whew, I can't wait for Estrella-Azul and Mezzaluna to open so we can get out for a date night sometime. Thank goodness we go to Bar Method to stay in shape and keep it all together ...so I can get my hands on the World Famous Jersey Freeze Ice Cream coming to Bell Works. In a word - Yay!"

Bell Works and the Pedestrian Street in Ralph Zucker's Masterpiece is layering in much more than sprinkles on top. Retail joins office, other elements in creating self-contained 'metropolis in suburbia’.

The transformation has transformed. Bell Works is open for retail business...today.
