HOPATCONG, NJ – The borough council meeting began on a sad note Wednesday, Sept. 18, as Mayor Sylvia Petillo spoke about the life of Kevin Natale, a 41-year-old businessman who died the previous Saturday.
Natale managed the family business, Frank’s Pizza on Hopatchung Road. He started as a dishwasher there at the age of 14. Councilman John Young noted Natale went to school with his sons. The borough native was well-known for his generosity to individuals and causes. Councilman Richard Bunce said he was very generous to the Knights of Columbus when he catered their affairs.
Petillo noted he was called “the Hopatcong angel.” She noted he was a volunteer with the Red Cross who journeyed to Louisiana after Hurricane Sandy to help rebuild down there.
