Hopatcong - DWI From Prescription Drugs

REASON FOR THE STOP: Complaints of a drunk driver
ANY RESISTANCE: No
CHARGES AGAINST THE ACCUSED: DWI, Reckless driving, Failure ot exhibit drivers license and Uninsured vehicle
ANY OTHER INFORMATION: Numerous 911 calls came into headquarters reporting adrunk driver on Lakeside Blvd that had pulled into the Quick Chek parking lot. When officers arrived they found that driver to be Mcaughlin.  One of  the witnesses stated he was behind Mcauglin's vehicle which "was all over the road and even stopped in the middle of the road and reversed for a few feet".  Mcaughlin had a neck brace on. He told the officers he recently had neck surgery and was taking Oxycontin and Oxycodone.  Mcaughlin was given field sobriety tests which he failed.  He was arrested and taken to headquarters.  He was given a DRE exam, processed, charged and later released to a family member.
