Hopatcong Teacher Named Sussex County Teacher of the Year

HOPATCONG, N.J. – For the third time in the last 10 years, Hopatcong School District is home to the Sussex County Teacher of the Year.

Yvonne Mortello, who will take on a new role as Academic Skills teacher at Hudson Maxim School, was named the Sussex County Teacher of the Year, according to Hudson Maxim School principal Tracey Hensz. Earlier this summer, Mortello was recognized by the State Department of Education for her new prestigious title.

Past winners from Hopatcong include Christina Gordon and Danielle Kovach, with Kovach being named the NJ State Teacher of the Year.
