PATERSON, NJ - An investigation is continuing into a morning fire Wednesday that claimed the life of a 62-year-old Paterson woman.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, and Paterson Fire Chief Brian McDermott, police and fire officials responded to a second–alarm fire at a single-family residence located at 50 Doremus Avenue at approximately 8:28 A.M. 

One victim, Nancy Salt, was removed from the residence and transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
