WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - Senior Dillan Suelto had two goals and two assists to lead Wood-Ridge past St. Mary (Rutherford), 5-2, on Senior Night at Donna RIcker Field in Wood-Ridge on Wednesday evening. 

Fellow seniors Marcus Benavides (1 goal, 1 assist), Matt Notarmaso (1 goal) and Nicholas Turu (1 assist) also recorded points on the evening.  Freshman Sal Catanzaro had the Blue Devils other goal on the evening.  

The Blue Devils led 2-0 at the half on goals by Suelto and Catanzaro.  The Gaels tied the game on goals by Brendan Melendez and Calista Kolmer.

Suelto broke the tie with his second goal to put the Blue Devils up 3-2.  Notarmaso made the score 4-2 before Benavides added the final goal of the game, to make the score, 5-2.

“This 2020 senior class is a special class made up of players that saw the lowest point as freshmen when we had our only losing season,“ said Wood-Ridge coach Alberico DePierro.  “And they were part of the resurgence that led to a title. I am so proud of the young men they have become and I just hope we can be together just a few more weeks.”

Wood-Ridge honored eight players on Senior Night, before taking the field on Wednesday night.
