HACKENSACK, NJ - The Bergen Charter boys basketball team has entered the COVID protocol and will not play again until February 1, at the earliest, according to an announcement from the New Jersey Interscholastic Conference.  The Bergen Charter postponement impacts Wood-Ridge, who were scheduled to open their season at home against the Yellow Jackets.

Bergen Charter is not the only NJIC team that has been impacted by the pandemic.

  • The Hawthorne Girls Basketball team announced that they would be shut down for two weeks.
  • Due to insufficient numbers, Palisades Park has announced it is suspending its bowling team for the season.  
  • Midland Park Boys Basketball team announced over the weekend that they would be shutting down for COVID until January 30.  
  • St. Mary (Rutherford) HS is on a two-week quarantine. No official date as to when they will return. 

Hasbrouck Heights is scheduled to play St. Mary on February 3 in both girls and boys basketball.
