NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ -- Somerset County Freeholder and former Green Brook Mayor Pat Walsh announced that the August 2014 food collection drive, Buy One Bring One (BOBO), will be held on Friday, August 15th at locations around the county.

“Many of us are enjoying time away during the summer, but unfortunately hunger never takes a vacation,” she said. “Local food banks are still struggling to keep their shelves stocked. You can help by bringing a donation to any of our BOBO Fridays locations.”

The monthly food drive has collected more than 16 tons -- 32,000 pounds -- of food for families in need in the past four years.  County residents are encouraged to purchase extra food items during this week's shopping to donate.  Bins are available throughout the month in many locaitons, but a special effort is made on BOBO Fridays.

Blue collection bins are placed in the North Plainfield library on Grove and Rockview Avenue, and at the North Plainfield and Green Brook municipal halls.
