Ice Bucket Challenge-Morris County Style

August 19, 2014 at 11:13 PM

MORRISTOWN, NJ- This afternoon, the Morris County Office of Emergency Management and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section cooled down in the summer heat for a good cause. That’s right… prepare for the ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE – Morris County Style.

See Video here : https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=757323120991413

The Ice Bucket Challenge serves to raise awareness and funding for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Between July 29 and August 18 alone, the ALS Association has raised over $15.6 million.

In addition to ALS, we here at Morris County want to use this opportunity to raise awareness for another cause. About 1 in 8 women (approximately 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. The Morris County Office of Emergency Management in partnership with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section and the Morris County Office of Personnel will be collecting funds for the upcoming Making Strides of Parsippany event which will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 8am at the Mack-Cali Business Campus located at 6 Century Drive, Parsippany. Making Strides is a celebration of breast cancer survivorship, a celebration of hope, and an expression of our shared determination to make this breast cancer’s last century.

County of Morris employees as well as members of the public are encouraged to donate to these worthy causes. Donations can be dropped off at the Morris County Office of Emergency Management or the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section. Both offices are located within the Morris County Public Safety Complex 500 West Hanover, Parsippany 07954. For GPS purposes use Morristown 07960. Please follow this link for directions.

Donations can also be dropped off at the Morris County Office of Personnel located at 10 Court Street Morristown NJ 07960.

When Good Enough, Isn't

“Good enough is the death of greatness.”

I fell in love with this quote when I first heard it because it rings so true in sports and in life. When that feeling starts to sink in think about how many times in the course of a game or season good ...
