WEST ORANGE, NJ — Despite being thrown against the wall a number of times, the Millburn High School varsity ice hockey team prevailed with a 7-4 victory over the rivaled Livingston Lancers at the Essex County Codey Arena on Monday night.
The Lancers scored the first point minutes into the game, but Millburn quickly evened out the score and followed up with another goal for a 2-1 at the end of the first period.
The Millers continued to rack up goals, building a three-point lead by the end of the second third.
Despite giving it their all in the third, the Lancers failed to find the net, and the Millers scored the final goal with a minute left for a final score of 7-4 in favor of the Millers.
Jacob Fuhrman scored three of Livingston’s four goals after Max Solomon scored the Lancers’ first of the game. Goals were made with assists from Matt Mclaughlin, Dylan Flaherty, Austin Vecchio and Jason Schneiderman.
