MORRISTOWN, NJ – The Morris Knolls ice hockey team defeated Randolph, 4-1, in the semifinal round of the Mennen Cup at the Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown, Tue March 2.

Morris Knolls scored three of its four goals in the first period and one in the fourth. Gehrig Eckoff led the scoring 41 seconds into the game, assisted by Jason Kwestal and Andrew Ryan. Eleven minutes later, Jeffrey Quinn netted the winning goal, assisted by Jake DiLoreto and Jake Quinn. With 1:26 remaining in the first period, Ryan expanded the lead, assisted by Eckoff and Kwestal. After going scoreless in the second period, Ryan nailed an unassisted empty net goal in the waning 24 seconds of the game.

Zach Gallo netted Randolph’s only goal, unassisted.

Morris Knolls finished the game with 32 shots on goal to Randolph’s 14.

Morris Knolls (5-5-1) will return to the Mennen Sports Arena to face Morristown-Beard (8-1-1) in the Mennen Cup final on Thu March 4 at 8:15 p.m.
