Identity Theft, a Hit and Run and Icy Road Crashes Reported in Warren Township Over Jan. 4-5 Weekend

WARREN, NJ-  The winter weather took its toll in Warren Township. Motor vehicle accidents on Mountain Ave. on Saturday and Angus Lane on Sunday were attributed to icy road conditions. 

At 4:50 p.m., Saturday, Jan.4, a single vehicle accident was reported on Mountain Ave. at the Route 78 overpass. Driver Jaclyn DiRienzo, age 20 of Basking Ridge, struck the overpass due to icy road conditions. Bardy Farms Towing removed the vehicle. No injuries were reported and no summons were issued.

On Sunday Jan. 5, a vehicle driven by Amar Sil of Warren left the roadway due to icy road conditions and struck a pole.Sil refused medical attention at the scene. JCP&L was notified of the damaged pole. No summons were issued and Bardy Farms Towing removed the vehicle.

In a statement issued today, Warren Township Police said that a resident of King George Road reported identity theft on Saturday, Jan.4. An unknown person opened an account in her name. At the time of the report, there was no monetary loss.
And on Sunday, a hit and run motor vehicle accident was reported on Skyline Drive. The homeowner reported that an unknown vehicle struck her mailbox and fence at some time overnight.
