EAST ORANGE, NJ - Not only did yesterday’s snow event cause schools, municipalities and businesses to close their doors early, it also created a chaotic condition for local area commuters.

There were massive travel delays reported from the East Orange/Orange train stations, bus lines, cabs and even Uber service. Many road became impassable due to the timing and intensity of the “Nor’easter” that brought our area its first snow storm.

Newark Penn Station was inundated with hundreds of disgruntled travelers waiting for trains out of the area.

Fortunately, Transit Police and other personnel were on hand to assist travelers as best they could. Although travel was slow (several hours late in many cases) commuters were able to get to their destinations safely.
