WEST ORANGE, NJ - Here are some important information and reminders from West Orange Township:
New email available for snow removal requests
West Orange township has set up a new Email to report unplowed roads. Despite the Department of Public Works ongoing efforts during this difficult winter to plow the township's more than 100 miles of roads, it still takes time to get the job done. If your road has not been plowed or needs to be plowed again, residents are asked to wait for two hours after the conclusion of the snow or ice storm. At that time, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your complete road name and it will be passed along directly to the Dept. of Public Works. You can also call The Snow Hotline: 973-325-SNOW (7669).

No plastic bags allowed in single stream recycling
While the township's new single-stream recycling has been a huge hit, there have been issues with residents placing their recycling in plastic bags in the containers for pickups. The bags interfere with the sorting mechanism on the trucks, and residents are asked to NOT place recycling in plastic bags.
