SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - interACT Theatre Productions will be bringing one of the stage's most acclaimed comedies to the Baird this January with Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest." This comic masterpiece of witty wordplay will run for two weekends, Friday through Sunday, January 17 - 19 and January 24 - 26.
Christine Gaden, who made her interACT directorial debut last year with "Plaza Suite," will direct this comedy of mistaken identities, in which two young men create alter-egos to escape their unwanted social obligations in London of 1895. The cast includes Dave Holyoak, Miranda Jean Larson, Erik Gaden, Anna Paone, Rosemary Wall, Susan Holtz, Todd Spangler, and Ted Cancilla.
Backstage, the crew includes Tabatha Frievald, Kate Soriano, Nicholas J. Clarey, Sabrina Santoro, Roseann Keenan, Meg Gilbert, Zach Pizza, Tasha R. Williams, and Regine Riviere.
The Importance of Being Earnest will run 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, Jan. 17, Jan. 18, Jan. 24, Jan. 25; and 2 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 19 and Jan. 26 at the Baird Theatre, located at 5 Mead Street, South Orange.
Tickets are $15 for the general public and $12 for students/seniors and may be purchased online or in person before performances at the interACT box office, 3rd floor at the Baird.
