Investigation Commences into Alleged Homicide of Butler Resident Carl Mirasola

Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., Chief of Investigations William Schievella and Butler Borough Chief of Police Edward Card, announce the investigation into the alleged homicide of 43 year old Butler resident Carl Mirasola, in Butler Borough. The investigation is ongoing at this hour and includes the following agencies: Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, Morris County Sheriff's Office/Criminal Investigation Section, Butler Borough Police Department and the Morris County Medical Examiner's Office.

At approximately 8:06 AM, a 911 call was received by the Butler Borough Police Department. The call was allegedly placed from within the residence of Carl and Amalia Mirasola located at 47 Roosevelt Avenue, Butler Borough, New Jersey.

Upon the arrival of the Butler Borough Police Department, they located Carl Mirasola deceased in the bedroom within the Rooselvelt Avenue home.

Our preliminary investigation in cooperation with Morris County Medical Examiner Doctor Ronald Suarez who is at the scene of the incident revealed that the victim was shot multiple times.

Prosecutor Bianchi stressed that the community is not in any danger and indicated that we are not seeking any suspects.

Prosecutor Bianchi stated, "We have placed the wife, Amalia Mirasola in custody in connection with the death of her husband. Currently, authorities are seeking any information regarding this incident or anyone with information concerning the family. Despite these pending charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt following a jury trial at which the defendant has all of his rights guaranteed by the U.S. and New Jersey Constitutions and relevant state law.
